Elementis Chromium products extend the useful life of articles such as timber, metals and leather products and hence make a positive contribution. |

Our manufacturing process utilises chromite ore, a naturally occurring mineral. We strive to minimise our impact on the environment by ensuring our production facilities are operated to world leading standards. Our advanced technology has been and continues to be, developed to maximise the extraction efficiency of chromium from chromite ore and minimise the generation of waste. The Elementis Eaglescliffe site has a Climate Change Levy Agreement with the UK government. This commits the site to a major reduction in specific energy consumption. We have already met our first target. Our energy conservation work ranges from capital investment projects such as waste heat boiler installation to raising employee awareness. |
| |
 |
Each of our manufacturing sites has clear improvement targets to reduce energy use, water consumption and waste generation. Programs are in place to meet these targets. Progress is monitored closely as part of our Environmental Management system. |
