Applications

Sodium sulphate is a co-product of the acidification of sodium chromate to dichromate. It has valuable uses as a bulking agent in the manufacture of detergent powders and as a key ingredient in the manufacture of glass, textiles and paper.

Grades and formulations
Elementis Chromium produces the highest quality product available at its purification plant at Eaglescliffe in the UK. The high purity sodium sulphate produced at Castle Hayne US, meets the Food Chemicals Codex specifications.

This product is supplied overseas as bulk shipments in 5000te lots. Despatched by bulk tanker in loads up to 29te. Sodium sulphate is also packed in 1 tonne IBC's and 25kg bags (minimum of 1 tonne).

Castle Hayne product is supplied in bulk by covered hopper cars, 100-ton capacity, which are equipped with gravity flow outlets. Bulk product can also be supplied in trucks, 25-ton capacity, which are equipped with pneumatic outlets. Bulk bags; 2000lb & 2205 lbs and 50lb Kraft bags, are also available.
